It was announced yesterday that Twitter’s self-serve advertising platform is now open to small and medium sized business owners (SMBs) in the UK, Ireland and Canada to enhance their online reach within their local community by targeting their tweets to potential customers.

The interface was launched in the US in May and its UK counterpart has been highly anticipated by agencies and social savvy businesses up and down the country. Up to now unless you were a big business with an even bigger marketing budget, Twitter ads were simply not an option. Advertising opportunities on the platform that are accessible to the masses opens up a very literal world of possibilities for Pogo and its clients.

In short, businesses will pay only when someone interacts directly with your promoted tweet.
