Pinterest has just introduced its newest feature – Place Pins. Plan you latest holiday or re-visit your recent adventures by placing pins on to Pinterest’s world map.
In response to the popularity of vacation boards among Pinterest users, the content-sharing site is now allowing users to add a place pin to their favourite hotel or restaurant. In addition, users can post photos of holiday experiences and bookmark the location on a map.
According to Pinterest, about 1.5 million places are pinned every day.
The new feature can also facilitate holiday planning among friends, Pinterest suggests, as users can collaborate on a group board by adding Place Pins to areas of interest.
Pinterest location data is powered by Foursquare, which means you can put your Place Pins on a specific address, as well as add extra information about what makes these areas special to you. You can also pin information directly from from sites like TripAdvisor, AirBnB, and Jetsetter, among others. Your Place Pins are handily available on mobile, so you can check your boards while on the go.
